Be Prepared

It is important to know what to expect when receiving and caring for your cosmetic tattoos. Cosmetic tattoos are permanent and just like any other tattoo they require touchups and special maintenance. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

How Does it Work?

Microblading is considered a permanent tattoo that uses a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis that mimics the growth of your already existing hair and creates bolder and natural-looking brows. Due to this, the eyebrows you wish to receive cannot be gained after only one appointment.

While everyone’s skin holds onto the pigment differently, in general, those with oily skin can expect to see more rapid, obvious pigment loss after only one appointment, while those with dry skin will see less pigment loss.

Before Your Appointment

In either scenario, every procedure is split into 2 appointments, which are 4-6 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete. The initial procedure will take from 60 to 90 minutes, and the second appointment takes 30-60 minutes. To get the best results, make sure you are very healthy 72 hours before and after your appointment. Also, avoid alcohol, aspirin/ibuprofen and one week before stop taking the following supplements: Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort (they contribute to thinning the blood and may affect anaesthetic efficacy). You may resume taking your vitamins 72 hours after your procedure.

IMPORTANT: No prescribed medication should be discontinued without permission of your doctor. If unsure please feel free to contact CTC before your appointment date.

On the day of your appointment, avoid caffeine, alcohol and exercise. Shower in the morning since will need to avoid showering for several days to keep your eyebrows dry. Baths are recommended during this time.

What is the process like?

Consultation

Before your first tattoo appointment, every client must meet with their artist to go over the eyebrow mapping, shape, colors and what is to be expected as an end result. It is at this time that clients can schedule their first appointment, which requires a $100 deposit on top of the $50 consultation fee. These fees will be applied to your total bill, including a mandatory 4 week touchup after your first appointment.

Before Your Appointment

When you first come in for your appointment, you will need to fill out consent forms and sign a care instruction sheet that will also be explained to you. You will then have “before” pictures taken by your tattoo artist before the actual procedure begins.

Your tattoo artist will then use a brow ruler to measure and mark the edges of your new brows. After this, your brows will be numbed and the procedure will begin! Feel free to bring music to listen to for the duration of the procedure!

After the main procedure, you will have a chance to check out your new brows and make any adjustments. When you are completely satisfied, “after” pictures will be taken and you can schedule your 4 week touchup.

After Your Appointment

The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment. It is also important to note that there will be scabbing during the healing process. Please follow care instructions to properly heal these scabs without losing all pigmentation.

The results of this treatment can last anywhere from 11 to 18 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure including skin quality, health, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

Before Touchup Appointment

This appointment will not be much different then your initial appointment. As it was explained, the pigment gained from the initial appointment will fade at least 50% to a more natural shade.
